Over countless cups of coffee, insignificant though it may seem,
As I listened to you, your stories; I weaved a lot of dreams
When you took those stories away, I did not whine
But let those broken dreams be mine.
In summer nights, as we sat in the field having ice-cream,
Staring at the stars, together; I weaved a lot of dreams
I am okay with the stars having lost their shine
But let those broken dreams be mine.
Those crazy nights, when the glasses were filled to the brim,
Drunk in your arms, drowsy; I weaved a lot of dreams
I do not crave for your embrace, or the wine
But let those broken dreams be mine.
When you said you have something to say and it was grim
I shut myself, my ears; but I could not help my dreams
You said you have to go, I replied, ”It is fine”
But please, let those broken dreams be mine.

Thanks Saket. I am not very good at poetry in general and in rhyming-poetry in particular. Guess, this one just turned out this way:) Glad that you liked.

alfaaz bilkul shayrana hain.khayal bhi ekdum romantic.
‘But let those broken dreams be mine’,what a painful-yet-so-sweet refrain!

Thanks Vikas. I have very high regards for you as a poet. Frankly I believe you are a much better poet that I have ever been. Any appreciation coming from you means a lot.

I feel its incomplete..wanted a little more..
One fine day, I am sure, you will turn up all beautiful and prim
And I will raise the toast, clink; and tell you my dream
You will blush, and as we sit together to dine
A
brokenbeautiful dream will finally be mine.Kanika, does it feel complete now?
Awesomeness redefined… second one is awesome too though i still like the first one more…

As I always say, we have successful ‘love stories’ because poetry is reserved for the ones that failed!

Whoa… Its such a beautiful poem and i love the second ending a lot though
Hey Tiny Toes, glad that you liked the poem. The second ending was in response to the comment of a friend but I guess my readers like it better than the first
Yeah that kind of ending is what most of us prefer
But the first one is good in its own way
But whatever be… Your blog is really nice with your creative thoughts and i’ll be coming around it often i guess
Thank you Tinytoes. Hopefully I will always have something nice for you on my blog
Beautiful Poem…!!!!I liked the first part more….incomplete ones is a reality…
